It is, perhaps, not the most perfect-looking zinnia, with its sparse, spindly, pale pink petals. But at its core, there is an island of brilliant yellow stars -- tiny starfish resting on a bed of red coral. Its beauty is on the inside.
The flower looks perfect. The inner starfish on red coral is inspired imagery, the lack of petals draws your eyes to the centre. The flower wanted its centre to be star attraction on your blog..

Christa, it's beautiful! Outer petals, outer schmetals. The inner core is what counts, anyway. :-)

I never realized the little blooms in the center before! It's georgeous :)
I love the pale pink color- how nice of you to point out the little stars on a bed of coral. I never noticed that with zinnias before!
Christa,
beside of spotting the best part of the flower, you also caught the most glorious lighting, very pretty photo!
